The MAEA Teacher Scholarship is intended to support active teaching members in their pursuit of professional learning opportunities that will enhance their teaching or artistic practice. Applicants for the scholarship must be active MAEA members for at least 3 consecutive immediate prior years. The scholarship amount is $250.
The scholarship can be applied to formal art- or art education-related PD experiences such as, but not limited to, the following:
Haystack 2-week summer session
Attendance at MAEA Fall or Spring Conference
Attendance at NAEA Convention or Leadership Conferences
This scholarship comes with the expectation that within a year of your experience, you will write an article and provide photos summarizing your experience for publication in Mixed Media, and/or create a short presentation to be given virtually or in person at the MAEA Fall or Spring Conference.
Applications are due January 1st and will be scored on a 4-point rubric based on the categories listed on the application.
